Kelly Pickler started playing in the infield almost as soon as the 10th and final race ended today's very windy Thursday card. Today really was the calm before the weekend storm, with the Kentucky Oaks Day card kicking off at 11 a.m. The rain is supposed to start in the early morning tomorrow and then will be scattered throughout the day.
I got a tout from at least three different sources today, unfortunately the horse ran third -- at least I bet it across the board and at least made 2/3 of my money back.
Looking to Saturday, Colonel John is becoming more and more attractive and is probably my solid Derby Day selection, and maybe I'm getting just getting caught up with Larry Jones' confidence, but I think you are going to have to seriously include Eight Belles in the exacta and trifecta -- as well as a yet to be determined speed horse.
Tonight is the Press Party at the Galt House, so I'm going to get out of here shortly...
