Trainer Michael Matz's Chelokee broke-down in the stretch-run of the Alysheba (GIII), ejecting rider Ramon Dominguez to the sloppy track.
Chelokee, a 4-year-old winner of $384,000 lifetime, was coincidentally the first winner of the Barbaro Stakes at Pimlico last year.
I was watching the race from the rail, so that I could get photos of the track conditions -- no information on the health of the rider or horse is available at this time.
I did not see Matz before or after the race, although he does have another entry in today's 11th and final race.

Looked like a pretty bad break on TV....probably would have to put her down.
Update at JessicaChapel.com.
Condylar fracture to the right front, which affected the ankle as well. He's in a splint and en route to Rood and Riddle

This is awful. My co-worker who's on site called and told me some rider had come off his horse, he didn't say the horse was injured!
